Troubleshooting

In the complete error message the location of the output.log file is mentioned (for example C:\ProgramData\MusicReader\output.log). Remove this file and then start the software again.

Other

Is it legal to scan existing sheet music?

This depends on the country you are in, some countries do not allow making full copies of a piece, others allow it when you have the original publication. For more information see the copyright law of your country. In most cases it is however no problem to make a digital copy as long as you have the original publication present for each digital copy and they are not used simultaneously. If you are unsure about the risks then ask permission from the publisher or purchase the digital version of the piece. There is also a lot of sheet music which is in the public domain or for which the copyright is expired.

I think I found a bug in the software or have a suggestion for improvement.

Please contact us about it, we really want to know this information so we can improve MusicReader.
